CAMPUS
The Academy which is presently located in Karkardooma Courts Complex, is situated in the Trans Yamuna area of National Capital Territory of Delhi. Its Campus at present comprises one Lecture Room, one Conference Hall and Offices of Chairman, Director and Additional Director. In view of the judgment delivered by the Supreme Court in All India Judges Association V Union of India,(2002) 4 SCC 247, the Academy is to be run on permanent basis. For the purpose of construction of full-fledged Academy, piece of land measuring 12 acres has already been allotted to the Academy in Dwarka. On said plot an Academy is purposed to be built with all modern facilities and techniques, necessary for imparting training to Judicial Officers and Ministerial Staff, attached to the Court.

30 trainee officers and is provided with modern

Multimedia

(C) COMPUTER ROOM.

in discharge of judicial functions cannot be ruled out.
It is need of time that judicial officers must be trained in
computers.
The Academy is having its own independent computer room
with 20 computers. The Academy has already imparted computer
training to two batches of newly recruited officers of Delhi Judicial
Service and one batch of newly recruited officers of Delhi Higher
Judicial Service (Direct Recruits). The Academy also provided its
services for the computer training to the Ministerial Staff posted at
Karkardooma Courts. The Academy also conducted refresher
courses for in service judges in ‘Dragon Speech Device’

LIBRARY
The
Delhi Judicial Academy is having its own

independent library. At present there are about
20000 books in the library. A qualified librarian along
with necessary staff is managing the library.
In the library, there is sitting capacity of about 60 persons.
The
automation of library has already been completed.
The Academy recently has acquired latest edition of Text
Books on different subjects like Criminal Law, Civil Law,
Intellectual Property Rights, Information Technology,
Environmental Law etc. The Academy besides other
Journals like AIR, SCC, SCALE etc. also subscribes to
All England Law Reports, US Supreme Court Reports
and Halsbury’s Laws of India.

Recreation
Room

There is one office room occupied by the
ministerial staff attached to the Academy.
It is provided with workstations as sitting
arrangement. There is one recreation room,
used by the trainee officers for lunch, tea etc.
The premises available at present with Academy
are neither sufficient nor suitable for running a
full-fledged
Academy.
